Shooting Star is a custom sports portfolio service that John started from scratch. Since 1999, we have produced nearly 1,000 portfolios for our 400 clients with a nearly 100 percent repeat customer rate. The Shooting Star model involves making highly-personalized photographs of our athletes, which are put together in a stunning multimedia DVD that provides a true digital album of the athlete during one of the the most important times of his or her life. We only photograph the athletes we have been hired to shoot, and do not shoot on speculation. Average advance booking time is one year; some clients book four years in advance.

Our portfolio fee for 2009-2010 is $500 per athlete. The fee is for two complete games, but the shoots are usually spread over several games when we have numerous athletes from the same team. We also offer an assortment of stylish, high-end products, including custom-designed hard cover coffee table books, spiral bound proof portfolios, gallery wrap canvas prints and online image posting. We are not interested in offering any gimmicky products like make believe cards or magazine covers. A CD of the images is provided with each package for your personal use. Our primary market is high school and college, but we also photograph younger athletes and adults.
